JDRF Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes

Middleburgh Elementary students will be participating in the JDRF Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes on Friday, May 17.  We will kick off our campaign on Thursday, May 2 with an assembly to distribute information and collection envelopes.  With help from a parent, students can register online at kidswalk.jdrf.org.  Parents are welcome to join your child at the Walk!  Thank you for your support of this worthy cause!

Bring Your Mom to Lunch Day

The food service department celebrated Mother's Day by inviting the students to bring their mom or special friend to lunch on Friday.  Lots of happy faces were found in the elementary cafeteria.  Please enjoy a slideshow of the event.

Congratulations to the MCS P.E. Leadership Award winners

Congratulations to MCS 5th graders Ashly Donato, Jaydon Santoro, Jacob Wood, Ania Keidong, Devin Prokop, and Morgan Schafroth who received the Capital Zone Physical Education Leadership Award. They were honored on May 6th at HVCC along with over 550 other students.

Music in our Schools Month

The choral groups of Middleburgh Central School will present the Music in Our Schools Month All Vocal Concert on Tuesday, March 19, 7:00, in the district auditorium. This year’s theme is “Honoring the Emancipation Proclamation”. The groups will perform songs from Africa or that originated in the African-American community. Special guests Kim and Reggie Harris will perform with the High School Choir through a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts as part of its Decentralization grants program. MORE

Odyssey of the Mind-Regional Competition 2013

Congratulation to Jen Conklin's Division 3 team. The team placed first in the Odyssey of the Mind regional competition on March 3, 2013. The team will now compete in the State competition later in March. MORE

Mrs. Hoerz’ third grade class wins team challenge

The Middleburgh Elementary School Physical Education Department had a team challenge between all nine of the third through fifth grade classes from November 16 until December 7. Each class picked a college basketball team out of a hat during the physical education class period, and that is the team that they were to follow for three weeks. MORE

Elementary Spelling Bee

Fourth Grader, Julianna Keyser took 1st Place with the spelling of 'casualty'.  Juliana won $25 donated; Fifth Grader, Ryan Fritz - 2nd Place won $15 and
Fifth Grader, Juliana Ryan - 3rd Place won $10.  Cash prizes were donated by the ES PTO.  In addition, Julianna Keyser won an online subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica and Powerspeak, an online language course!

Thanksgiving Dinner MCS style

Middleburgh Elementary School families were invited to join their children for lunch today at the school to celebrate Thanksgiving. The menu included oven-roasted turkey, sweet potatoes and butternut squash, homemade gravy, bread stuffing, dinner roll, cranberry sauce, assorted fruit and milk.  MORE

Super heroes, princesses, mummies, animals and more roamed Middleburgh Elementary School today during the annual Halloween Parade. Family members lined the sidewalk as students paraded by, accompanied by the High School marching band. MORE

Bring Your Family to Lunch Day

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, Middleburgh Elementary School will host a bring your family to lunch day. Families are invited to join their elementary schooler during the student's regularly scheduled lunch time for a meal of baked Pasta with meat sauce and cheese, green beans, whole wheat breadsticks and assorted fruit. We hope you'll join us for a fun, healthy and delicious lunch that's a great deal to boot: Adult lunch is only $3.88; student lunch is $1.85 (free and reduced lunch pricing applies as always).
