(Jan. 5) This month we are implementing a new alert and notification service throughout Middleburgh Central School District. Called Connect-ED, this service will enable us to personally communicate with parents about emergency situations, school events and important issues impacting your child. It will allow us to send personalized voice messages to your family’s home, work or cell phones, as well as e-mail communications, and even text messages.
We will be able to reach everyone in the district within minutes.
We will being sending automated test messages within the next
week. Please expect this message and note these important call
delivery tips:
When
a call comes from the school (or district), your caller ID will
display the school (or district) phone number.
When
listening to a message, please be aware that background noise
will cause the system to stop and start. It is carefully
calibrated to determine whether a person or an answering
machine/voicemail has been reached, and background noise may
affect the delivery. If possible, move to a quiet area, or press
the “mute” button on your phone.
If
you missed any part of a message, please stay on the line and
press the “*” (star) key on your phone to hear the entire
message again.
All Middleburgh CSD families and staff will automatically be enrolled in Connect-ED, using the most recent contact information provided to the district. It is important that your school has all of your current telephone numbers and e-mail addresses so that you will not miss out on any important communications. Please be aware that the Connect-ED service cannot dial an extension, so be sure the numbers you include are direct lines.
You can provide additional emergency contact numbers and designate a primary number using the form provided below. Forms will also be available in the main office of each building.
If you have any questions about the alert system, contact Kim Lawyer, administrative assistant to the Superintendent by phone at 827-3625 or by email at kim.lawyer@middleburghcsd.org. If you would like to update your contact information in the system, please call the main office of the building where your child is enrolled.
We look forward to connecting with you more effectively in the very near future.
